Lazar’s Canyon is the deepest and longest canyon in eastern Serbia. It is located not far from the village of Zlot, near Bor, hidden among the slopes of eastern mountain Kučaj. Nine kilometers long and between 300 and 500 meters high, steep and rocky, it has not been fully explored to this day. It is known for its numerous caves and pits – over 70 – and the most famous are Lazar’s Cave, Vernjikica and Dubašnička pit.
Lazar’s Cave is the most famous and one of the first protected caves in Serbia! Spring water and rich decoration of stalactites and stalagmites up to a few dozen meters high are worth seeing.
