Vrmdža, a small village in the municipality of Sokobanja, has become known throughout Serbia and abroad for its peaceful life in nature and community. It all started back in 2006, when the village began to be inhabited by young people, mainly from the IT industry, who wanted to live and work far from the urban cities (the place is locally known as “IT City”). They produce natural food, help each other and socialize, develop tourism in preserved nature and improve life in the community.

In the last few years, people from America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and a lot of people from larger cities in Serbia bought houses and started living in a more harmonious environment with a different life pace and unique village atmosphere. People from Vrmdža are good hosts and welcome all guests with a smile. Who knows, after the visit, you might even decide to become their neighbor.

Lake Vrmdža at the foot of the mountain Rtanj is 15 km away from Sokobanja, and 3 km distanced from the village of Vrmdža. If you are interested in fishing, picking the famous Rtanj tea or just want to enjoy the peace of nature, the meadows, pastures and groves around the lake will definitely meet your expectations.
